Product Information

Signed by Three Great Players:

A truly unique story that has created this one of a kind Violin. The maker attended a London concert, having recently finished the back plate of the Violin he thought it would be an interesting memento to ask the performers to sign it. Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas both performed and signed the back plate of the Violin during the intermission. Rachel Barton-Pine was also attending the concert and happily signed the Violin. All signatures are visible through the f-holes.

This violin boasts a powerful voice but also subtlety in playing comfort. It is varnished with oil varnish and a little measure of superb quality or artist's pigments (earth colours) mixed and mulled into the varnish. The instrument is based on Antonio Stradivari's 'Messiah' model from the PG mould. The back, neck and ribs are made of Bosnian flamed maple from the same tree. The spruce used for the top is of evenly grained timber. The varnish is a vivid orange-brown over a ground of deep yellow. The varnish layers are composed of water based grounds and finished off with a thin oil based varnish for protection and durability.

The back length is precisely 358 mm and the body stop (length from neck to the bridge) is 195 mm. The pegs turn very smoothly and the instrument also benefits from a kevlar tailgut holding the strings under tension.
