Simple Pricing.
Rental instruments usually come as an “outfit”. An outfit contains of an instrument, a bow, a case or padded bag and rosin. Just unpack and play.
For hygienic reasons shoulder rests for violin and viola are not part of the rental packet, but they can be bought separately and sent out to you with the rental outfit. Celli obviously do not need those.
There are three degrees of quality for each instrument: Classic, Premium, and Deluxe and then the Apprezzato is also available to rent.
Rental outfit prices start from:
£ 13.50/month for a ‘classic’ violin, (size 1/4 - 1/2 - 3/4 - 4/4)
£ 16.50/month for a ‘classic’ viola, (size 12” - 13” - 14” - 15” - 15.5” - 16”)
£ 45.00/month for a ‘classic’ cello, (size 1/4 - 1/2 - 3/4 - 4/4)
One monthly rental price for any size makes changing up a size very easy: just arrange an exchange and continue on the same plan.
So you can keep doing what you love most: playing music.
Full, professional sound adjustment.
When the instruments first arrive in the workshop, they all get treated to a complete set-up and sound adjustment.
The fingerboard is first in the queue to get a proper re-surfacing. This is to get rid of all bumps and hollows and to add a scoop to prevent interfering noises. The topnut gets a reshape to allow the strings’ optimal flow into the pegbox. The pegs themselves get some real attention too in terms of fit, lubrication and repositioning of string holes. I then move on to the soundpost which is almost always too far in, not straight and not fitting right. The bridge is a complete blank and needs a lot of work done to it to make it playable. Even the saddle gets a polish and the length adjustment of the tailgut is looked at to improve the harmonic overtones.
When all the parts are returned to their rightful places and the instrument gets tuned up for the first time, I am ever again surprised of the sound my starter instruments make after they have been properly looked at.

The best thing is, that 50% of rent paid can be applied to a purchase of an instrument or bow too!
So by renting you are paying your way onto the instrument ladder without even noticing it!!
T & C: Maximum of up to 12 months rent paid, and incentive must be redeemed within 6 months after ending your rental agreement.
The instrument of purchase does NOT need to be the one you are currently renting, but it can be applied to any purchase of instrument, bow or full outfit.
Classic rental packages - 6 month minimum rental term (to give it the best chance of success new players would need a few months getting used to playing).
Premium, Deluxe, and Apprezzato rental packages - 12 month minimum rental term.

Whilst there is always a chance to future price rises of rental packages due to logistical and environmental factors, your monthly rent will NEVER be raised mid-contract, NOR when the instrument is with you on a rolling month-to-month agreement!
